Industry leaders Scolmore, JIB, NAPIT, Marshall-Tufflex and the IET are announced as confirmed sponsors of the 27th instalment of Electrical Industry Awards, taking place on Thursday 24 October at the Royal Gardens Hotel, Kensington
Now in its 27th year, the Electrical Awards is an event that looks to reward and celebrate outstanding performance within the electrical sector. Such a great event would not be possible without our sponsors and this year we have the support of some of the UK’s leading players in the electrical industry.
Scolmore Group
Scolmore International Ltd was formed in 1989 and is now one of the UK’s leading manufacturers of products for the electrical industry. At its purpose-built Head Office and Distribution Centre in the Midlands, the company designs and manufactures an ever-expanding product range for distribution throughout the UK and worldwide, including electrical accessories, lighting, home automation, security and cable accessory solutions.
As a leading player in the electrical industry, Scolmore cares about its future and commits significant time and financial investment to help support and promote the sector through a range of measures including sponsorship, event organisation and attendance.
The Joint Industry Board
The Joint Industry Board (JIB) is an impartial organisation that sets the standards for employment, welfare, grading and apprentice training in the electrical contracting industry. Its work is targeted at improving the industry, its status and productivity. The JIB also administers the Electrotechnical Certification Scheme (ECS), the ID and competence card scheme for electrotechnical operatives in the UK, which is recognised and endorsed by the industry.
NAPIT
NAPIT has over 10,000 registered members in the electrical, heating, plumbing, ventilation, microgeneration and building fabric trades across the UK’s domestic, commercial and industrial markets. The organisation offers a wide range of discounted and free support services to members, including training, certification and technical help.
As one of the leading Government approved and United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS) accredited membership scheme operators, NAPIT is now celebrating over 25 years in the industry and achieving an Investors in Customers (IIC) Gold Award. Frank Bertie from NAPIT will be on the independent panel of experts who will be judging the competition, along with the Simon Cook from the LIA, Steve Brawley from the JIB, Helen Atkinson from ECA, and Darren Staniforth from the NICEIC.
IET – Institution of Engineering and Technology
The IET co-publishes BS 7672 (the IET Wiring Regulations) and is the industry authority on the Standard that provide support to the industry through their practical guidance publications, free online Wiring Matters magazine and expert technical helpline.
The IET also offers dedicated student and apprentice support through its online student’s hub and college roadshows. Driven by the increasing need to ensure the individual competence of all electricians within industry, the IET has launched a new Electrician EngTech professional standard in conjunction with the Engineering Council (the regulator for the engineering profession). Electrician EngTech provides individuals the opportunity to demonstrate their competence and commitment to professional development, enhancing their career opportunities and standing out amongst their peers.
Marshall-Tufflex
Marshall-Tufflex are the UK’s market leader in the manufacture of cable management solutions offering well designed, hardwearing and installer-friendly solutions for any project. The Marshall-Tufflex range is the ‘go to’ cable management and trunking supplier of choice for many contractors. Marshall-Tufflex has worked tirelessly to increase the amount of recycled plastic in its manufacturing to reduce its impact on the environment. Through extensive research and advanced engineering they lead the way in producing cable management systems that are, on average, comprised of 80 per cent recycled plastic. For some profile extrusions this is regularly 100 per cent.
We would like to say a massive thank you to the 2019 event sponsors; they really do help to make the event a key date in the electrical calendar!
The Electrical Industry Awards is organised by Purple Media Solutions, publisher of Electrical Times magazine and W&ED, entry deadline is 12 July 2019 and winners will be announced at a black tie gala dinner at the Royal Gardens Hotel, Kensington on Thursday 24 October.
