Clarkson Evans Training appoints new head of electrical lecturing
Clarkson Evans Training has appointed Jamie Bryan as its new head of lecturing.
Jamie had an extensive career as an electrician in domestic, industrial and commercial settings including working on the Radiohead stage set and helping to install the lighting on the Strictly Come Dancing Judges’ desk before joining Clarkson Evans Training in 2012.
His widespread electrical experience gives him huge credibility amongst course delegates and with the new 18th Edition Wiring Regulations being released in July, Jamie and his team of nine electrical lecturers are bracing themselves for a busy summer, training external electricians as well as those working for Clarkson Evans, on the important new changes.
Jamie has always had a passion for education, having mentored several apprentices during his career. While working at Clarkson Evans Training he successfully completed a University Diploma in Post-Compulsory Education & Training.
Clarkson Evans Training is the sister company of Clarkson Evans, the electrical contracting company which employs over 850 people and wired nearly 20,000 new homes last year.
“Jamie will be leading our team of electrical lecturers at an exciting time. As well as responding to the introduction of the 18th Edition Wiring Regulations, the team continues to expand and deliver training to increasing numbers of apprentices employed by our contracting business, across an ever-growing area of the country,” said Lindsey Young, chief operating officer at Clarkson Evans.
“Training apprentices is fundamental to the long-term growth of Clarkson Evans and we pride ourselves on attracting and retaining the best talent. Over 70% of our current team leaders and area managers are former apprentices and our Managing Director Nathan Evans started his career with us as an apprentice,” added Mrs Young.
Jamie said: “I feel lucky to have had the opportunities presented to me over the last five and a half years at Clarkson Evans Training. The company has enabled and supported my career progression, I’m now looking forward to an exciting new challenge. The 18th Edition will herald change for us on many fronts, I am in the fortunate position to have the support of a dynamic team who will adapt and continue to grow with the company.”
Clarkson Evans has received numerous awards for its in-house training programme, including a highly-coveted Princess Royal Training Award in 2017 and Apprentice Employer of the Year at the 2018 AAC Awards.
