NEW QUANTITY SURVEYOR APPOINTED BY J S WRIGHT

Mechanical and electrical services provider J S Wright has boosted its contract management expertise after appointing Darren Timmins as Quantity Surveyor.

Based at its Aston headquarters, Darren will provide commercial management support to all three of the company’s offices in Birmingham, Bristol and London.

He is already supporting the mechanical and electrical fit out of Arena Central in Birmingham as well as the mechanical fit out of two other new residential schemes at The Bank in Birmingham and Fish Island Village in London.

With 12 years’ experience in M&E building services, Darren was previously QS for a nationwide engineering services provider and has worked on contracts for Birmingham’s Queen Elizabeth Hospital and the Midland Metropolitan Hospital.

Darren, who lives in Halesowen, has a BSc (Honours) degree in Building Services Engineering from Liverpool John Moores University after starting his career as an apprentice at a firm in Birmingham. He also holds a City & Guilds ILM Level 3 Certificate in Leadership & Management.

Marcus Aniol, managing director of J S Wright, said: “Darren’s experience will prove invaluable as we continue to grow our M&E business throughout the Midlands, the South East and the South West.”

J S Wright has also recruited Sam Inett from Kingswinford as its first trainee quantity surveyor, also based at the company’s Aston office.

The company was voted one of the UK’s Top Ten Specialist Contractors to Work For in the 2016 Construction Enquirer Awards and was a finalist in three categories in this year’s H&V News Awards.
