An electrical firm with ambitious expansion plans and a commitment to developing young talent has been nominated for a major business award.
NES (North Electrical Services) Ltd, which has bases in Inverness and Elgin, has been shortlisted after a public vote for Business of the Year for firms with under 100 staff in the Scottish SME Business Awards.
NES is one of seven finalists in the north section of the award category. Winners will be announced at a ceremony in Glasgow on 28 March.
The awards, which are organised by Creative Oceanic, are in their second year. Thousands of nominations were put forward in 25 categories in the awards.
NES Managing Director Kenny Duncan said: “We are delighted to have been nominated by the public and shortlisted for this prestigious award. It is a tribute to the hard work of all our staff who have helped the company get where it is while embracing our core principles of growing organically and developing our own apprentices.”
NES is recruiting four new apprentice electricians this year, which will bring the total number of apprentices it employs to 17.
