Upgrading street lighting to more efficient LED technology can offer huge benefits, lower energy costs, controllability, improved landscape aesthetics and reduced light pollution, and enhanced safety for pedestrians and motorists. Yet only around 1 in 5 of the street lights in the UK is currently LED.
Embarking on a street lighting project has many challenges, such as ensuring sound system design, use of quality products, and an appropriate control strategy; but as has been seen in a number of cases already, a switch to LED street lighting can provide significant cost savings in the current climate of council funding pressures, as well as contributing to carbon reduction targets.
So the Premium Light Pro project, in partnership with the Lighting Industry Academy is offering a FREE workshop to help set you on your way to planning and implementing a successful street lighting upgrade.
As partners with Premium Light Pro, this Energy Saving Trust lead workshop provides you with the opportunity to learn from some of the most experienced trainers in the lighting community.
Titled Helping you switch to Energy Efficient Street Lighting this FREE workshop will be held on the 28 March 2018 at the LIA Telford and covers:
- Introduction to LED street lighting
- Applications and solutions to different challenges
- Design considerations for different areas
- Control systems and strategies
- Procurement, funding and making a business case
The day also includes a tour of the Lighting Industry Association Laboratory. Here you will learn about testing and quality assurance in this area.
This workshop is suitable for a wide audience, even if you have no previous knowledge or experience of lighting. Those working in public sector procurement, sustainability or energy management will find this workshop particularly useful.
