Mechanical and electrical services specialist J S Wright has recruited a highly experienced senior mechanical contract engineer to help fulfil its growing order book.

Patrick Beirne, based at the company’s headquarters in Birmingham but also serving its London and Bristol offices, has almost 40 years’ experience in the building services industry.

Having worked for some of the UK’s largest M&E contractors, Patrick’s biggest projects have included a retirement village at Yateley in Hampshire and the new Engineering Building at Leicester University. The Daily Mirror’s offices at Canary Wharf and the National Grid’s headquarters in Coventry are also among his credits.

The former apprentice who lives in Walsall Wood is now working on a £10.5m contract to equip 423 new apartments at Fish Island Village in London, one of a number of new deals secured by J S Wright that have resulted in a record order book worth more than £50m.

Marcus Aniol, managing director of J S Wright, said: “Patrick’s vast experience will help us service an increasing workload, particularly in the South East where we are working on some of the UK’s largest residential schemes as a preferred contractor for a number of major developers.”

J S Wright, which was founded in Birmingham in 1890, specialises in the design and installation of mechanical and electrical (M&E) services for the hotel, residential, social housing, student accommodation, leisure and commercial sectors.

The company was voted one of the UK’s Top Ten Specialist Contractors to Work For in the 2016 Construction Enquirer Awards, and named H&V News Building Services Contractor of the Year in 2015.
